Adverb Position

English Grammar-এ Adverb অনেক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ একটি পার্ট। কিন্তু Bangladeshi learners-দের প্রায়ই একটি কমন কনফিউশন হয়: "Adverb-টা বাক্যের কোথায় বসাব? শুরুতে, মাঝে, নাকি শেষে?"

আজকের লেসনে আমরা খুব সহজে Adverb-এর Position বা অবস্থান নিয়ে জানব।

১. Front Position (বাক্যের শুরুতে)#

কিছু Adverb সাধারণত বাক্যের একদম শুরুতে বসে পুরো sentence-কে modify করে বা focus তৈরি করে।

• Connecting Adverbs: However, Therefore, Suddenly ইত্যাদি।
• Example: Suddenly, the lights went off. (হঠাৎ বিদ্যুৎ চলে গেল।)
• Time Adverbs (যখন জোর দেওয়া হয়):
• Example: Yesterday, I met him at New Market.

২. Mid Position (বাক্যের মাঝে)#

সবচেয়ে বেশি ভুল হয় Mid-position নিয়ে। Adverb of Frequency (always, usually, often, never, seldom) এবং Adverb of Certainty (probably, definitely) সাধারণত বাক্যের মাঝে বসে।

সহজ দুটি নিয়ম মনে রাখুন:

• Rule A (Main Verb-এর আগে):
• Formula: Subject + Adverb + Main Verb
• Example: I always wake up early. (আমি সবসময় সকাল সকাল ঘুম থেকে উঠি।)
• Example: She never tells a lie.

• Rule B (Auxiliary / Be Verb-এর পরে):
• Be verb (am, is, are, was, were) বা Auxiliary verb (have, has, will, can) থাকলে Adverb এদের পরে বসে।
• Formula: Subject + Auxiliary/Be Verb + Adverb + Main Verb
• Example: He is always late for class. (নট: He always is late)
• Example: I have already done the work.

৩. End Position (বাক্যের শেষে)#

Adverb of Manner (কীভাবে?), Place (কোথায়?), এবং Time (কখন?) সাধারণত বাক্যের শেষে বসে।

• Example (Manner): He drives carefully.
• Example (Place): The children are playing outside.
• Example (Time): I will call you tomorrow.

🔥 Golden Rule: The M-P-T Rule#

যদি একটি বাক্যে Manner, Place, এবং Time তিনটি Adverb-ই একসাথে থাকে, তবে ধারাবাহিকতা হবে: 👉 Manner (M) ➔ Place (P) ➔ Time (T)

• Incorrect: He sang yesterday beautifully at the concert.
• Correct: He sang beautifully (Manner) at the concert (Place) yesterday (Time).

⚠️ Common Mistake to Avoid:#

Verb এবং Object-এর মাঝে কখনোই Adverb বসাবেন না!

• ❌ Incorrect: I like very much biryani.
• ✔️ Correct: I like biryani very much.

Quick Practice:#

সঠিক বাক্যে সাজান:

• 1.He / goes / seldom / there.
• 2.She / speaks / fluently / English.

(Answers: 1. He seldom goes there. 2. She speaks English fluently.)
