Superlative Adjectives: সহজ বাংলায় নিয়মের বিস্তারিত#

দৈনন্দিন জীবনে বা ইংরেজিতে কথা বলার সময় যখন আমরা বলি—"সাকিব আমাদের ক্লাসের সবচেয়ে ভালো ছাত্র" বা "কক্সবাজার পৃথিবীর সবচেয়ে বড় সমুদ্র সৈকত"—তখন আমরা মূলত Superlative Adjective ব্যবহার করি।

১. Superlative Adjective কী?#

যখন তিন বা ততোধিক ব্যক্তি, বস্তু বা বিষয়ের মধ্যে তুলনা করে কোনো একটিকে 'সবচেয়ে বেশি' বা 'সবচেয়ে কম' গুণসম্পন্ন হিসেবে প্রকাশ করা হয়, তখন তাকে Superlative Adjective বলে।

Golden Rule: Superlative Adjective-এর পূর্বে সবসময় 'the' বসে।

২. Superlative Adjective তৈরির নিয়মসমূহ:#

Rule 1: One-Syllable Adjectives (এক সিলেবলযুক্ত ছোট শব্দ)#

ছোট শব্দের শেষে সাধারণত -est যুক্ত করতে হয়।

• Tall ➔ the tallest (সবচেয়ে লম্বা)
• Fast ➔ the fastest (সবচেয়ে দ্রুত)
• Short ➔ the shortest (সবচেয়ে খাটো)

Rule 2: Ending in 'e' (শেষে 'e' থাকলে)#

শেষে 'e' থাকলে শুধু -st যোগ করতে হয়।

• Large ➔ the largest
• Nice ➔ the nicest
• Simple ➔ the simplest

Rule 3: CVC Rule (Consonant + Vowel + Consonant)#

শব্দের শেষে যদি একটি vowel এবং তার পরে একটি consonant থাকে, তাহলে শেষের consonant-টি double হয়ে -est বসে।

• Big ➔ the biggest
• Hot ➔ the hottest
• Fat ➔ the fattest

Rule 4: Ending in 'y' (শেষে 'y' থাকলে)#

শব্দের শেষে consonant + 'y' থাকলে, 'y' উঠে গিয়ে -iest যোগ হয়।

• Happy ➔ the happiest
• Busy ➔ the busiest
• Easy ➔ the easiest

Rule 5: Multi-Syllable Adjectives (দুই বা ততোধিক সিলেবলযুক্ত বড় শব্দ)#

বড় শব্দের আগে সাধারণত most (বা বিপরীত অর্থে least) ব্যবহার করা হয়।

• Beautiful ➔ the most beautiful
• Expensive ➔ the most expensive
• Intelligent ➔ the most intelligent

Rule 6: Irregular Adjectives (ব্যতিক্রমী রূপ)#

কিছু শব্দ কোনো সাধারণ নিয়ম মানে না, এদের সম্পূর্ণ মুখস্থ রাখতে হয়।

• Good ➔ the best
• Bad ➔ the worst
• Far ➔ the farthest / furthest
• Little ➔ the least
• Much / Many ➔ the most

৩. বাস্তব উদাহরণ (Contextual Examples):#

• Cox's Bazar has the longest natural sea beach in the world. (কক্সবাজারে রয়েছে বিশ্বের সবচেয়ে দীর্ঘতম প্রাকৃতিক সমুদ্র সৈকত।)
• Shakib Al Hasan is one of the best all-rounders in cricket. (সাকিব আল হাসান ক্রিকেটের অন্যতম সেরা অলরাউন্ডার।)
• Traffic in Dhaka is the worst during rush hours. (ব্যস্ত সময়ে ঢাকার জ্যাম সবচেয়ে খারাপ আকার ধারণ করে।)
• This was the most difficult question in the HSC exam. (এইচএসসি পরীক্ষায় এটি ছিল সবচেয়ে কঠিন প্রশ্ন।)

৪. Common Mistakes (যেসব ভুল বাঙালি শিক্ষার্থীরা প্রায়ই করে):#

• 1.'The' বাদ দেওয়া:

• ❌ Incorrect: He is tallest boy in class.
• ✔️ Correct: He is the tallest boy in the class.

• 2.Double Superlative ব্যবহার করা:

• ❌ Incorrect: This is the most easiest problem.
• ✔️ Correct: This is the easiest problem.

• 3.'Of' এবং 'In'-এর ভুল ব্যবহার:

• সাধারণত স্থান/গ্রুপ বোঝাতে in বসে (the best student in the school).
• সময় বা সংখ্যা বোঝাতে of বসে (the hottest day of the year / the tallest of the three brothers).
