Active and Passive Voice

আজকের লেসনে আমরা শিখব English Grammar-এর অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ একটি টপিক—Voice Change (Active to Passive)।

১. Voice কী?#

Voice হলো Verb-এর সেই রূপ যা নির্দেশ করে Subject নিজে কাজটি করছে, নাকি কাজটি Subject-এর ওপর এসে পড়ছে।

• Active Voice: Subject যখন নিজে সরাসরি কাজটি সম্পন্ন করে।
• গঠন: Subject + Verb + Object
• উদাহরণ: I eat rice. (আমি ভাত খাই।)

• Passive Voice: Subject নিজে সরাসরি কাজ না করে, Object-এর কাজটি Subject-এর মাধ্যমে করা হয়।
• গঠন: Object (Subject রূপ) + Auxiliary Verb + Verb-এর Past Participle (V3) + by + Subject (Object রূপ)
• উদাহরণ: Rice is eaten by me. (আমার দ্বারা ভাত খাওয়া হয়।)

২. Active থেকে Passive করার ৫টি সাধারণ নিয়ম (Golden Rules)#

• ১.Active Voice-এর Object-টি Passive Voice-এ Subject হবে।
• ২.Tense ও Person অনুযায়ী Auxiliary Verb (am/is/are/was/were/been/being ইত্য়াদি) বসবে।
• ৩.মূল Verb-এর সবসময় Past Participle form (V3) হবে।
• ৪.সাধারণত Verb-এর পরে by বসে (কিছু ক্ষেত্রে to, at, with বসে)।
• ৫.Active Voice-এর Subject-টি Passive Voice-এ Object হিসেবে বসবে।

৩. Tense অনুযায়ী Voice Change-এর নিয়ম ও উদাহরণ#

ক. Simple Present Tense#

• Structure: am/is/are + V3
• Active: He writes a letter.
• Passive: A letter is written by him.

খ. Present Continuous Tense#

• Structure: am/is/are + being + V3
• Active: She is making tea.
• Passive: Tea is being made by her.

গ. Present Perfect Tense#

• Structure: have/has + been + V3
• Active: They have played football.
• Passive: Football has been played by them.

ঘ. Simple Past Tense#

• Structure: was/were + V3
• Active: The police caught the thief.
• Passive: The thief was caught by the police.

ঙ. Simple Future Tense#

• Structure: shall/will + be + V3
• Active: I will buy a phone.
• Passive: A phone will be bought by me.

৪. Modal Auxiliary Verbs (Can, Could, May, Might, Must, Should)#

• Structure: Modal + be + V3
• Active: You must do the work.
• Passive: The work must be done by you.

৫. Imperative Sentence (আদেশ/অনুরোধ/উপদেশ)#

• Structure: Let + Object + be + V3
• Active: Do the work.
• Passive: Let the work be done.
• Active: Do not open the door.
• Passive: Let not the door be opened.
