Simple Sentences (সহজ বাক্য গঠনের নিয়ম)
Construct sentences with one independent clause.
আজকের Lesson-এ আমরা শিখব Simple Sentence কী এবং কীভাবে খুব সহজে Simple Sentence চেনা ও তৈরি করা যায়।
১. Simple Sentence কী?#
সহজ কথায়, যে sentence-এ একটিমাত্র Subject এবং একটিমাত্র Finite Verb (সমাপিকা ক্রিয়া) থাকে এবং যা একটি সম্পূর্ণ অর্থ প্রকাশ করে, তাকে Simple Sentence বলে। অর্থাৎ, এতে শুধু একটাই Independent Clause থাকে।
মনে রাখবেন: Simple sentence মানেই যে বাক্যটা সবসময় ছোট হবে, তা কিন্তু নয়। বাক্যে prepositional phrase, participle বা infinitive যোগ হয়ে বাক্যটি বড়ও হতে পারে, কিন্তু Finite Verb একটাই থাকবে।

৩. Examples & Explanation:#
- 1.I eat rice.
- Subject: I
- Finite Verb: eat
- Object: rice
- এখানে একটাই verb আছে, তাই এটি একটি classic simple sentence.
- 2.The boy is playing football in the field.
- Subject: The boy
- Finite Verb: is playing
- Extension: football in the field
- বাক্যটি কিছুটা বড় হলেও finite verb একটাই (is playing), তাই এটি Simple Sentence.
- 3.Closing the door, Tanvir went to sleep.
- Non-finite verb (Participle): Closing
- Subject: Tanvir
- Finite Verb: went
- লক্ষ্য করুন, 'closing' কিন্তু finite verb নয়। মূল কাজ বা finite verb হলো 'went' (একটিমাত্র)। তাই এটিও Simple Sentence.
- 4.In spite of working hard, she failed the exam.
- এখানে 'In spite of working hard' হলো একটি Phrase।
- Main Clause: she failed the exam (Subject: she, Finite verb: failed)।
৪. Simple Sentence চেনার কিছু সহজ Tips:#
- No Conjunctions connecting clauses: বাক্যে 'and', 'but', 'or', 'because', 'although', 'since' দিয়ে একাধিক clause যুক্ত থাকবে না।
- Finite Verb Check: বাক্যে কয়টি সমাপিকা ক্রিয়া (Finite Verb) আছে গুনে দেখুন। ১টি থাকলে সেটি Simple Sentence.
- Modifiers/Phrases থাকতে পারে: 'Due to', 'Because of', 'In spite of', 'Despite', 'To + verb (Infinitive)', 'Verb+ing (Participle/Gerund)' ব্যবহার করে Simple Sentence বড় করা যায়।
